Stuck?! Sketches July 1st DT Reveal

Hi there!

Well it's the start of July and here we are already half way through the year! Today is my oldest daughter's birthday... She's turning 11! I can't believe how quickly she is growing up! It is going way too fast but I am so proud of the beautiful young lady she is becoming!

The start of a new month means a new sketch reveal at Stuck?! Sketches! I LOVED this sketch designed by the lovely Laura Whitaker! It was something a bit different for me, and I love that it challenged me! Here is the awesome sketch:

And here is my layout:
"Happy"

One of my favourite things about this sketch is how the photos are arranged in a strip! These photos are of my little cherub Eleanor at 3 1/2 months old! She's such a joyful baby, always happy and smiling! And that's what I wanted to capture with this layout.

I chose some bright patterned papers to start... The yellow background paper is from Echo Park and the others are We R Memory Keepers. I then mixed some pink watercolour paint with modeling paste and applied it through a stencil to create a base for the two main clusters.

Here are some closeups of my layout...

I love this Heidi Swapp 'happy' die!!! I can see myself using it many times! I mounted some thin strips of foam tape under it to lift it up. Also in this cluster I used a couple of flowers from D-Lish Scraps, a Heidi Swapp arrow, My Minds Eye Enamel dots, and a butterfly that I fussy cut from the We R Memory Keepers patterned papers.

A closeup of my journalling :) Those circle epoxy stickers are from the American Crafts Amy Tangerine Rise & Shine collection. They are really pretty! I also mounted these up with some foam tape for added dimension. (I think I'm a little addicted to foam tape, I can't seem to create a layout without it!!)

Here I included another fussy cut butterfly, some tangled thread to add some texture and interest, a BasicGrey resin flower, and a couple more enamel dots.

And one last butterfly (cos an odd number always looks best doesn't it??).

If you haven't done so already, I hope that you'll pop on over to the Stuck?! Sketches blog and take a look at the gorgeous layouts created by the other design team members - they are just wow! We would love YOU to join us this month by creating a layout inspired by this sketch and linking it up by the 29th July! The randomly chosen winner will receive a prize from one of our very generous sponsors:

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit and for your lovely comments also!
